Gain the Tools and Resilience to Thrive Long Term.

ALA Therapy is committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families in overcoming generational trauma, enhancing communication, and building stronger, healthier relationships.

Founded by April Lancit, ALA Therapy offers a safe, judgment-free space, whether online or in our office, where clients are encouraged to be vulnerable, authentic, and collaborative in their healing journey.

The practice is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves access to high-quality mental health support that honors their unique experiences and challenges. At ALA Therapy, therapy sessions are designed to be conversational and empowering, providing clients with the tools and resilience they need to thrive long-term.

ALA Therapy was born from my frustration with the limited & often ineffective mental health services for Black and Brown communities in Philadelphia.

After years of working in nonprofit agencies, I saw firsthand how couples and families were struggling without proper support…

Especially when it came to addressing the systemic barriers that impacted their relationships.

Growing up in a single-parent home and witnessing the absence of a healthy couple dynamic in my own life fueled my curiosity and passion for creating a space where Black and Brown couples, families, and individuals could find the help they needed to heal, grow, and thrive together.

ALA Therapy was created to be that space—a place where people could access therapy that truly understands and addresses their unique challenges, all while feeling seen, heard, and supported in a comfortable and authentic environment.
